About Kumari

Kumari Patricia, 38 years coach, mentor, educator, yogi, artist

Kumari Patricia was raised in Ohio, studied art at The Art Students League and the Rhode Island School of Design. After graduating she began teaching but found her way to social work completing an MSW at the University of Michigan and began working at the University Center for the Education of Women (CEW) as a counselor. She found her way to teaching again as a faculty member for nearly 20 years at Goddard College in Vermont, where she settled with her five children after her divorce. Her work in coaching emerged as she neared the end of her teaching and found a way to blend her counseling work and teaching in a career that supports women as they experience a life transition after a loss in a relationship, through death or divorce.

Kumari integrates her 38 years of studying and practicing yoga and breathwork and meditation with her coaching and supporting clients. The expressive art of narrative writing in her work is a big part of her signature program and her courses. She believes that the first important step in healing is to be seen in your story of loss and supported in your grief journey

Kumari’s method is unique and there are several ways to get help through her monthly membership of videos and writings, her courses, her signature Healing Blueprint 5-month program and her 1:1 support.

What some of her clients have said

I found Kumari when she showed up on my Facebook feed. Impulsively I clicked, and collaborating with her changed my life. My husband’s sudden death left me in shock, sitting all day in a chair, unable to get myself functioning, mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted.

Kumari’s ten-step program was EXACTLY what I needed to jump-start my life again. Completing the modules gave a framework to my days, since I knew I needed to complete my “assignments.” I would read/watch all the information, process the module,  write out the engagement piece and email it to her. The very next day she would email me back with her thoughtful musings and helpful suggestions and questions. The back-and-forth correspondence at first was the only reason I got up and got myself dressed in the morning. Each week I found myself studying, writing, and responding to Kumari, then anticipating her response back to me. Periodically we would meet on Zoom to further share my grief, my questions, my ranting, my uncertainty.

She is so insightful, so empathetic, so engaged in getting her clients unstuck from their grief and on track to assume their new identity. With her help, I began to forgive myself, make decisions, and move forward into my new life. She encouraged me every step of the way to take small risks, take the next step, and recreate myself. She is a great cheerleader, always positive that I could survive and finally thrive, and she was right.
